Most riders wouldn't take a vintage chopper across their home state. Legendary motorcycle adventurer Doug Wothke (RTWDoug) took his Harley-Davidson Panhead around the world. From the brutal roads of Siberia to the deserts of Mongolia, this bike saw more abuse in one trip than most motorcycles see in a lifetime.
When you are crossing continents on a rigid frame, you don't buy gear out of a catalog. Doug came to BAD&G Customs for a bespoke Seat and Saddlebag set that could survive the globe.
The Build:
This is the ultimate expression of custom motorcycle leathercraft. Designed specifically for Doug's Round-the-World (RTW) Panhead, this matching set combines massive carrying capacity, extreme durability, and countless hours of master-level hand tooling.
The Saddlebags: Globe-Trotting Capacity
When you are riding unsupported across continents, your saddlebags are your lifeline. We built these bags to swallow tools, spare parts, and survival gear while shrugging off rain, mud, and intense UV exposure.
- Thick Veg-Tan Steerhide: Constructed from our heaviest American vegetable-tanned leather, these bags hold their shape no matter what you stuff inside them or what weather you ride through.
- Hand-Tooled Details: The flaps feature deep, custom hand-tooled artwork finished with a rich antique dye, giving them a rugged, weathered look straight out of the shop.
- Heavy-Duty Hardware: Secured with oversized stainless steel roller buckles and thick leather straps to ensure they stay closed on the roughest washboard roads on earth.
The Seat: Thousands of Miles of Comfort
Riding a Panhead chopper around the world requires an "Iron Butt" and a seat built to match. We designed this solo seat to provide critical support and shock absorption for marathon days in the saddle.

ORDERING & SHIPPING
How long does it take to get my order?
Since every item is handmade in our Richmond, VA shop, we don't just pull boxes off a shelf. Most orders ship within 1-3 business days. Custom orders or elaborate tooling may take longer. You will receive a tracking number the moment your label is created.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes! We ship worldwide. We have sent bags to riders in Europe, Australia, Asia, and beyond. Please note that international customers are responsible for any customs duties or import taxes.
FITMENT & INSTALLATION
Will these bags fit my specific bike?
We make both model-specific and universal bags.
- If you see your bike listed in our menu (e.g., "Dyna Saddlebags"), those are designed to fit your specific fender struts and shocks.
- If you have a custom chopper or a bike we don't list, check out our Universal Collection or Contact Us with a photo of your bike.
Do I need to relocate my turn signals?
For most Dyna and Sportster models, our bags are designed to work without relocating turn signals, as long as you are running the stock setup. However, if you have a side-mount license plate or aftermarket indicators, please check the measurements on the product page.
WARRANTY & CARE
What is your warranty?
We offer a Lifetime Warranty on craftsmanship. If a stitch pops or hardware fails due to a defect, we will fix it. We build these to last a lifetime. (See our Warranty Page for full details).
How do I care for the leather?
We use premium vegetable-tanned leather. Like a good pair of boots, it needs to be conditioned occasionally. We recommend using a high-quality leather balm or oil once every few months, or after getting caught in heavy rain.
